What I Learned from An Inconvenient Truth

In An Inconvenient Truth, the part that impacted me the most was when they showed before and after pictures of glaciers in different parts of the world. It impacted me the most because this past summer when I had visited an old camping site i used to visit frequently when i was about the age of  nine, i noticed a drastic change in the area. I noticed that on our way there i could not see the rivers anymore. When i was younger i would swim in this lake that was extremely deep i saw some sort of lobster beneath as well. When i visited this lake this past summer this same exact lake was now at my ankles.

Seeing the drastic changes of the glaciers from around the world impacted me the most because the world is changing for the worst. If we don't make extreme changes ourselves, we could be looking at our own extinction soon. Al Gore made this message very clear and it surprises me how this documentary was made ten years ago and changes haven't been made. It is frightening to think that if 2/3's of Greenland were to melt, which is slowly happening, the sea level can raise to 20 feet and that would mean a lot of the places like Florida, San Francisco, the Netherlands, and every coastline out there will be under water. The more people wait on these changes they must make, the sooner our world will collapse before our eyes.
