Week of April 17

This week I am really really close to finishing i need a couple of more shots to make my film complete. I should have it finished by Monday.

Week of April 10th

This week i edited all the films i have shot and put it all together. Our film is really close to being finished all i need is to get a few more interviews in and it will be completed. I hope to finish this film by sometime next week. So far I am happy with the outcome i am getting because it is exactly as i hoped for it to be.

Week of April 3rd

This week our group filmed various clips for our music video. We went out to Santa Monica and filmed many shots. I then downloaded them onto my computer at home and began to work with the newest iMovie version. Once i felt confident I began to edit the music video. I feel confident that this film will come out great. I then realized to take it to the next step i want to put in a few scenes of people explaining what music means to them. So this weekend i plan to get those shots.

Week of March 27

This week our production group decided on a production name, plata productions. My production group is with Lenia. We found out that we want this music video to be about what music means to people. We then brainstormed the different shots we can get for this video in order to keep it visually interesting. We discovered that music can also bring back certain memories so we want to incorporate that in there as well if it works. We then discussed what exactly we can get. So this weekend we have decided to begin filming this  video.

What Music Means to Me

Music takes a tremendous role in my life partly because i play music myself. Music has helped me overcome rigorous moments in my life.
I began playing my guitar around the time my uncle's departure to Argentina and my grandfather's passing. My guitar helped me surpass those difficult moments. Learning the guitar required commitment and patience but it is a beautiful feeling to be able to play songs from beginning to end. The process of learning a song is also great because since it requires a great amount of focus it takes the individual away from the world for a moment.
Artist like Lana Del Rey, Sia, Florence Welch and bands like Mumford and Sons, Explosions In The Sky, and ODESZA have helped me surpass incredibly difficult moments in my life. Every artist and band that i mentioned has either a compelling touch of poetry or a beautiful ability to extract sounds that mix well together. It is amazing how artist can  create music and how much you can learn about an artist through their music. I hope to one day be able to take an excruciating moment and transform it into a beautiful song just like these artist.
When i listen to music i don't just listen to it i analyze the lyrics and listen to every minor sound that probably goes unnoticed to most. During hardships it is amazing how music can comfort an individual. I feel as if these artist know exactly how i feel and i don't feel alone anymore when i listen to them.
Music is truly a beautiful form of art. I feel as if sometimes it goes unappreciated due to the publicity on the celebrities. Artist like Sia intentionally does not show her face when performing because she wants her audience to focus on the performance of the dancers and the music. I think thats beautiful because people should be focused on the art instead of the celebrity. Music is truly fascinating. The way it can take you away from the world for a moment is amazing.

Problems and Struggles

Some problems that adolescents go through are feeling neglected, little, and alone. In particular students here in Bell High School have it very difficult when they go out into the world after they graduate. They realize how little the've seen the world outside and had forgotten that the world does not consist of hispanics, therefore a major shock hen students go off to college. This feeling makes them feel little in the world. Many people have stereotypical views on hispanics and this leads to making teenager from this area feel as if they arent good enough for anything. I feel that many teens feel as if theyre alone, I myself have experienced this icky feeling. Many adults, including parents, do not value the opinion of the teenager and this leads to them feeling alone and unappreciated. Many parents do not realize that not hearing their child's opinions or thoughts on a certain issue makes their child feel as if they are being neglected. It is highly essential to listen to adolescent's thoughts because these thoughts  can lead to great ideas for the future because they are the future. The adults that do put down teenagers are just causing our future to not look very great. It is upsetting to know that I have experienced harassment from adults, and that many of my friends have as well. I have seen wit my own eyes parents  neglecting their children as well. It is terrible to know that the ignorance from adults are causing our future, the children, to lead to a downhill.

The Most Interesting Person I Know

The most interesting person I've met in my lifetime is my closest friend. I've known this person for about five years. She has experienced some interesting moments through her life. Whether they are positive or negative experiences I have always been there to listen. She has been through some unbelievable adventures. There has never been a day with her where i didn't learn something new about her. I have experienced some crazy moments in my life with her as well. Our friendship is stronger than ever  because we are always learning about each other and keeping each other interested through our experiences and adventures. Although I've learned her characteristics she is able to surprise me often.
Another interesting person I have met is a teacher named Mr.Villalvazo. I had this teacher for Ap English in my junior year of high school. He is one eccentric being because of his perspective on various things. He has taught me about existentialism and romanticism. It is incredible what he can discover in literature. One thing he taught me that amazed me is how in an existential world, a world without hope because death is the only thing promised in life, love is like a religion. Love can be like a religion because it is another form of hope. Therefore, hope can be found but through love. I am curious to learn about Mr. Villallvazo's experiences and what made him have such a fond perspective on concepts like romanticism and existentialism. I am grateful to have gained some knowledge from this amazing and very eccentric individual.
